Privacy policy

WeekMuse is designed so the developer does not receive your diary. Core features work without an account or a WeekMuse server.

Data stored on your device

Titles, media types, dates, reactions, notes, preferences, and user-selected covers are stored locally in WeekMuse’s private app storage. WeekMuse does not upload this content to the developer.

Photos and covers

WeekMuse uses Android Photo Picker so you choose a specific image without granting broad photo-library or storage access. A compressed copy is placed in private app storage. The original may remain in your photo library under your control.

Exports, backups, and sharing

When you export a .weekmuse backup, CSV file, or recap image, you choose the destination through Android’s system file interface. When you share a recap, Android’s share sheet receives only the temporary file you selected. The destination app or storage provider applies its own privacy terms.

Notifications

The optional weekly reminder is off by default. If enabled, it is scheduled locally and uses neutral text without diary titles or notes. Android 13 and later ask for notification permission only when you enable the reminder.

Google Play purchases

If you buy WeekMuse Pro, Google Play processes the payment and provides the app with purchase status needed to unlock the feature. WeekMuse does not operate a purchase server, does not upload purchase tokens, and does not receive your payment-card details. Google’s privacy policy governs Google Play.

No ads or behavioral analytics

WeekMuse includes no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, social SDK, crash-reporting service, or online media-metadata lookup. The app may communicate with Google Play only for billing and entitlement restoration.

Backups and uninstalling

Android cloud backup is disabled for WeekMuse. Uninstalling or clearing app storage deletes the local diary and private covers. Create a full .weekmuse backup first if you want to restore them later.

Children and sensitive data

WeekMuse is a general-audience personal diary and is not directed to children. Do not place information in your diary that you would not want included in a file you intentionally export or share.
